CUSTODY OFFICER

DEPARTMENT:                             Community Corrections

HIRING RANGE:                           $24.25-$26.94/hr based on education and position related experience; Shift Premium available.  Longevity pay after 3 years.

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK        Variable shifts - 40 hour work week

JOB SUMMARY:
This position performs intake and release functions, floor monitoring, serving at the control counter, preparing and filing reports, supervision of inmates and other related functions.  Must follow universal precaution standards for blood borne diseases.  Successful candidates have an opportunity to advance through a career development program within Community Corrections.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
•    High School Diploma or HSE required; ability to complete and maintain required training and certifications provided by department and IDOC
•    Ability to make practical application of local, state, and federal regulations, Indiana statues, standard policies and procedures and legal terminology of the criminal justice  system
•    Possession of a valid driver's license
•    Pre-employment background check, polygraph and drug screen
