As a vital part of our Rudisill team, you’ll be the friendly face that welcomes customers, helps them navigate library services, and ensures our spaces are organized, inviting, and accessible. Whether you're assisting with checkouts, guiding users through technology, or supporting library programs, your work will make a meaningful impact every day.
- Provides general information in person and by phone assisting customers in locating and discovering materials, connecting with available library services, or providing information about the library, referring reference questions to the appropriate resource;
- Assists customers with self check-out machines by instructing how to charge, renew, and discharge library materials to/from customers;
- Enjoys a work atmosphere where staff are encouraged to be creative, be innovative and try something new.
- Registers customers by issuing and updating library cards;
- Sorts and routes returned materials to proper location and ensures that the library is neat and organized so customers can easily find what they need;
- Helps customers with basic technology and Internet access;
- Other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Some college coursework preferred
- Previous customer service experience is a plus
