General Description
The purpose of the class is to manage the accurate billing and collection of all revenue due to the City. The class is responsible for ensuring the accurate & timely billing for various taxes and public service bills to achieve maximum revenue collection for the City.
Ensure compliance with City and State tax laws and regulations, and maintenance of the City's tax roll under the direction of the Assistant Manager of Billing and Collections.

Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this job. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.
Essential Functions:
- Provide positive customer service and answer inquiries in person, by phone and by email to all internal and external customers.
- Responsible for analyzing and researching accounts and resolving account issues.
- Collect payments, enter, and post taxpayer fees and payments such as personal property, real estate, utility bills, licenses, etc.
- Balance payments and reconcile daily transactions for deposits and reports.
- Maintain proper payment handling practices and a high degree of accuracy with financial transactions.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
One to two years of general customer service experience or training in working with the public involving financial activity; or any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of spreadsheets or Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Familiarity with Bright Municipal Accounting Software or database software.
