Job Description

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:      Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Handle incoming calls and deal with or direct customer problems to the proper personnel or department for resolution.
  • Provide customers with pricing, availability via telephone and/or email and enter orders.
  • Work with other departments on a daily basis to ensure that deliveries, pricing and questions for customers are answered in a timely manner.
  • Obtain frequently required information for customers in a timely manner.
  • Establish a rapport with the decision makers within their major accounts.
  • Responsible to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by the supervisor.
  • Initiate customer contact through telephone calls, emails, marketing surveys or sales leads in advertising.
  • Complete necessary paperwork as required on a daily basis such as unauthorized deductions and credit with assistance.
  • Take orders, give pricing and availability and give general information without significant supervision.
  • Obtain frequently required information from customers in regards to forecasting, competition and product surveys.   
  • Special projects as required.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental and OSHAS 18001 Safety certification requirements.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Skills required: typing, 10-key and basic math
  • Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft package or related software desired.
  • Proficient in sales skills, working with all levels of sales and distribution channels.
  • Basic understanding of features, advantages and benefits for all product lines.
  • Ability to handle guests (clients) during visits to the company.
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Basic understanding of office procedures.
  • Good telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to handle some types of product inquiries.
  • Understanding of competition and anti-trust laws.
  • Ability to collaborate on projects with others inside and outside of the department.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous inside sales a definite plus.
  • Technical skills and understanding

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

  • Primary work in a climate-controlled office environment.
  • Eye/hand coordination greater than 50% of the time.
  • Visual strain greater than 50% of the time.
  • Listening, sitting, standing, stooping, walking, observing, grasping, pushing, pulling and keyboarding.
