We are seeking to hire a positive and professional Customer Service Representative to join our growing team in St. Louis, MO. In this role, you'll be our customers' first point of contact and will be responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs, as well as communicating effectively with team members within the customer service department. Responsibilities
- Customer Communication - Handle inbound customer calls, provide clear information, resolve inquiries, and follow up on quotes, sales orders, and purchase orders to ensure timely processing and delivery
- Order/Account Management - Process orders accurately, manage logistics and shipping, and ensure timely fulfillment with minimal delays
- Vendor and Product Knowledge - Understand products and the industry, using resources to find answers and learn beyond data entry tasks, while utilizing vendor portals (Parker Hannifin, TrulinX, PhConnect, Distranet, TOPZ) for order entry, status updates, and vendor relationship management
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration - Collaborate with production, sales, accounting, and other CSRs and vendors to ensure smooth order processing and resolve issues
- Training and Professional Development - Participate in ongoing product and pricing training to maintain accurate knowledge of products, company offerings, and pricing tools such as SPAs, price multipliers, and other pricing strategies
- Follow scripts when managing challenging customer issues and escalate to the appropriate party when needed
- Make sure each customer’s complaint is addressed with care and precision to achieve full customer satisfaction
- Communicate frequent customer suggestions to the team to troubleshoot
- Reply to incoming calls from customers, including product and service questions, general information, and complaints
- Work closely with the sales lead to stay up-to-date on service and product knowledge
Qualifications
- Customer service experience with an independent sales force
- Preferred candidate has experience in manufacturing or other industrial-related experience
- Computer experience
- Microsoft Applications (Outlook/Excel)
- Previous work in a customer-facing position
- Excellent active listening, interpersonal, and communication skills
- High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
