211 Brevard provides immediate support and connects people to resources in times of mental health, financial and community crisis, and maintains and shares information about critical needs and services. Services are available 24 hours a day via voice and text through the 211 community helpline and 988 suicide and crisis lifeline. 211 is the access point for the Community Information Hotline in disasters, and a variety of other specialized services.
Position Summary
Responsible for right-sizing, updating and maintaining the 211 Community Resource Database and online directory for Volusia and Flagler counties, and bringing records into compliance with Inform USA Standards to improve the quality and quantity of information available to 211 staff and community users.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain assigned records in the 211 Community Resource Database online directory in accordance with the Inform USA Standards for Excellence in Community Navigation
- Engage service providers to help ensure information about their programs and services is accurate, current, complete, and aligned with database standards
- Participate in the internal resource review group and annual Inclusion Criteriaand periodic Style Guide reviews
Position Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Able to use technology including advanced web-based telephony, text, database and contact management systems
- Able to work independently and as a member of a team to organize, prioritize, and meet project deadlines
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Demonstrate good judgment, adaptability, and ability to problem solve
Additional consideration may be given to the following
- Inform USA Community Resource Specialist- Database Curator credential
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Physical Requirements
- Ability to communicate clearly on the phone, in writing and in person
- Ability to read written material and computer screens
- Ability to spend multiple hours on the telephone and computer
- Ability to enter data into a computerized record
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as required
Work Schedule and Location
This is a hybrid position based in Daytona Beach with most work conducted throughout Volusia and Flagler Counties. Employees will be expected to work at least one day per week in our administrative office in Rockledge, Florida and the remaining time in Volusia/Flagler or virtual. The schedule will be flexible to the needs of the business and the community.
Most work will be conducted during typical weekday business hours, with flexibility for scheduling occasional evening or weekend work. The position will be eligible for hybrid/remote work schedule in accordance with the agency’s remote work policy.
Disaster Response
211 Brevard serves as source of community information in disaster situations and all employees may be expected to work shifts prior to, during and/or following a community disaster.
