GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

Provides a wide range of maintenance functions for the facility, including cleaning/maintaining grounds, parking lots, and building facilities; completing work orders, records, logs and other written or computer-based documents; and operating material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery and other powered equipment. This role is critical to the overall functioning of our facility, ensuring cleanliness, various efficiencies, safety, and performance.

 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

The DC Utility Attendant is a champion of Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently by performing the following duties and responsibilities of the position (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned):

 

Performance

• Supports interior trash pickup process in all departments
• Supports recycling efforts, including:
  • Executing the shrink wrap process for each operational area, including making and storing bales and loading recycler’s trailer
  • Performing slip sheet pickup for each area
  • Supporting janitorial team with recyclable pickup and process from break rooms Collecting HAZMAT items as requested, packaging and preparing for pickup by waste hauler
  • Notifying maintenance supervisor when shipment levels are reached
  • Managing disposal of used oil and oil filters
  • Performing additional related tasks as needed/directed
• Performs battery maintenance support, including:
  • Changing, inspecting, watering, washing, and equalizing batteries. Reviewing reports (verification of low runtime batteries, verification of battery/charger order)
  • Preparing batteries for scrap/hazardous waste disposal
  • Palletizing spent batteries; removing watering system, shrink wraps and labels; and preparing for shipping
  • Performing additional related tasks as needed/directed
• Providing part cage support, including but not limited to, cycle counting of critical spare parts; opening work orders; issuing and receiving parts; and reconciling consumables. Performs housekeeping/clean-up, including but not limited to, interior and exterior trash pick-up spill cleanup; cleaning and distributing spill totes and trash cans; and spill cart maintenance and replenishment
  • Inspects, tests, and maintains safety equipment, including but not limited to fire extinguishers and eye washing stations
• Maintains equipment including but not limited to printers, wash-bays, box erector, conveyor systems, trash compactor, powered equipment as required by vendors, main distribution line, shipping jackpot, and any additional equipment as needed
• Maintains racks by regularly inspecting and repairing and/or replacing as needed
• Ensures office and break rooms are fully stocked with supplies
• Supports set up and clean-up of interview areas and facility events, including moving and setting up tables and chairs
• Paints, strips, and re-coats all interior spaces, including floors as requested and needed
• Obtaining and maintaining powered equipment operator certification and operating Powered Equipment as needed

• Maintains thorough knowledge of and ensures compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards
• Follows all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures before, during, and after services; always ensure compliance with state board guidelines
• Follows established service protocols to ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience
• Maintains outstanding DC operational standards, including cleanliness of the offices, DC floor, restrooms, break areas, and any additional assigned area
• Adheres to the Ulta Beauty dress code
• Protects company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service
• Executes other operational tasks as directed

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience 

 Experience

• Previous relevant experience is preferred

 Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and work well both independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated experience with equipment safety procedures
• Must be able to drive powered equipment
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to understand written/oral instructions in English
• Ability to follow instructions quickly and accurately

 

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work overtime as needed 
• Flexibility in daily task assignment
