    Lake Station Community Schools is seeking a Dean of Studentsfor assignment at Thomas A. Edison Junior Senior High School.
    The Dean of Students is responsible for overseeing student life, and discipline in a 6-12 grade school setting. This role involves collaborating with school leadership, faculty, and staff to create a supportive and enriching environment for students

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Possess an Indiana teacher's license (preferred).
    • Supervision/leadership experience in a K-12 education environment.
    • Previous experience teaching in a Junior High/Middle School or High School (preferred).


    Preferred applicants should:

    • Possess the ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators and the public.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of students, faculty, and parents.
    • Commitment to fostering a positive school culture and student development.
    • Good organization and computer skills.

    Job Description:

    • 185 days per contract year.
    • Oversee day-to-day disciplinary issues, working closely with administration, faculty, and staff.
    • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student behavior concerns.
    • Supervision of extra-curricular events during evenings and weekends.
    • Maintain accurate records of disciplinary actions and parent communication.
    • Provide facilities management support.
    • Any other duties assigned by administration.


    Compensation:

    • Commensurate with education and experience
