    Description: The Dean of Students is responsible for supporting the Principal in the administration, organization, safety and supervision of the alternative education and career and technical education programs. The primary responsibilities are the development of student disciplinary procedures, and working to continue to improve the culture and climate of the school, with the staff.

    Job Summary:

    Administration

    • Assisting the Principal in managing, evaluating and supervising effective and clear procedures for the operation and functioning of the school consistent with the philosophy, mission, values, and goals of the school including instructional programs, discipline systems to ensure a safe and orderly climate, program evaluation, office operations, and emergency procedures. Ensure compliance with all laws, board policies, and civil regulations.
    • Establishing and promoting high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and responsibility for behavior.
    • Interacting and collaborating with students, parents and the community to build a school environment that maximizes student learning, academic performance, and social growth.
    • Keeping informed of the national and state curriculum developments and trends that pertain to career technical education by attending appropriate workshops and meetings.

    Instruction/Curriculum

    • Providing leadership and assistance to instructors so that each student may benefit from their time here at KEC.

    Public Relations/Community Linkages

    • Maintaining a sound public relations program for students. Present at member schools when necessary and assist with orientation tours for all member schools.
    • Assisting in special activities and events as required.

    Compensation

    $60,000-$65,000 per school year based on previous administrative experience, Board paid TRS & health insurance stipend offered.
