OBJECTIVE:
To deburr, polish, break edges, grind radial, blend mismatch, and rework machined, punched, formed, sheared, or assembled parts to the specifications set forth by customers. Instructions will be derived from blueprints, Engineering Orders, Drawing Change Notices, and other verbal or written instructions.

- Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, crouching, bending, and stretching.
- Lifting up to 50 lb. without assistance and over 50 lb. with assistance.
- Constant exposure to general shop conditions, including machine noise and metal dust.
- Constant repetitive use of hands, wrists, arms, and vibratory hand tools.

Major Activities Performed and Typical Job Requirements
- Operate and maintain production to quality standards with moderate assistance, based on area and degree of difficulty.
- Check work using prescribed gauges or certified tools.
- Perform preventive maintenance on the equipment per the checklist on the machine.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices, which include keeping tools organized and burr dust and chips picked up.
- Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, earplugs, and any other safety-related items as defined by the supervisor/lead person will be required. Gloves are also required when handling material with sharp edges
- Proper disposal of hazardous waste as defined by the supervisor/lead person
- Familiarity and knowledge of blueprints, mylars, Engineering Orders (E.O.), Statistical Process Controls (SPCs), and Drawing Change Notices (DCNs)
- Able to locate pertinent information, such as dimensions, tolerance, etc., on blueprints
- Capable of setting up and performing the requirements with little to moderate assistance based on the degree of difficulty of the part.
- Assist in training new employees as directed by the supervisor or lead person
Education & Experience
- High School or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude and a good work ethic are desired
- 2 years of manufacturing experience, but prefer a minimum of three years of hand-finish experience
- Able to demonstrate proficiency in advanced Statistical Process Control (SPC) training, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) training, and skills in shop math
