This position is 6.50 hrs/day for 180 days/year.

JOB DESCRIPTION – DELIVERY DRIVER FOR CNS/DISTRICT MAIL CARRIER

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

 

The Delivery Driver must pick up and deliver transport carts, food, and supplies to each kitchen in a safe and timely manner, adhering to routes and schedules. Mail, supplies and materials will also be picked up and delivered throughout the District. A written test may be required.

 

Report to and evaluated by:               Supervisor, Child Nutrition Services

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Child Nutrition Services Delivery Driver/Mail Carrier shall perform the following duties, including but not limited to:

 

  • Loading and unloading vehicle as required.
  • Picking up and delivering of food, supplies, mail and materials relative to operations of the Child Nutrition Services Department and/or the District. Deliver all goods efficiently and promptly.
  • Stocking kitchen storerooms.
  • Assisting in preparing meals for distribution.
  • Maintain simple record of mileage driven, and materials received and issued.
  • Fill gas tank, check oil, water and battery; wash windshield.
  • Reporting to the building administration in matters relative to vehicular movement on school grounds.
  • Meeting proper sanitation and food transportation regulations.
  • Assuming personally all moving or non-moving traffic violations.
  • Reporting to the designee in the performance of the job responsibilities and duties.
  • Perform related additional duties.

 

QUALIFICATIONS (Including, but not limited to the following)

 

  • Possess:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Food Handler’s Permit
  • Washington State Driver’s License

Practice safe driving habits in the performance of the job.

Comply with all local, county, and state traffic regulations.

Effective and strong communication and interpersonal skills and skills in working with others, including students and staff.

Must be able to lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds (WAC-296.126.096).

Must have above-average record of attendance, punctuality, and reliability at work. 

Must have neat and clean appearance upon arrival to work.
