Objective: Assist with managing the delivery department to maximize safety, efficiency and customer service.
Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 annually depending on experience
Job Responsibilities:
● Ensure compliance of all DOT regulations
● Ensure Delivery Department is appropriately staffed at all times
● Monitor terminal time and review MobileCast daily with drivers
● Oversee morning delivery logistics
● Oversee PM Dispatch
● Be the backup for AM and PM Dispatch
● Be the backup for routers
● Daily dispatch of vehicle, drivers and equipment
● Formulate and maintain delivery schedules and route
● Conduct regular checks on delivery drivers
● Track and maintain employee hours for payroll
● Maintain DOT Files
● Conduct regular performance evaluations of delivery personnel
● Distribute Mobilecast equipped phone units accordingly to drivers during dispatch
● Distribute route books and documentation to drivers during dispatch
● Ensure every order scheduled for delivery is set up for dispatch and delivered on time.
● Handle and track driver phone calls regarding customer issues
● Ensure timely filing of any and all insurance or accident reports
● Resolve customer complaints
● Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
● Associate or Bachelors in related major preferred
● Excellent written and oral communication
● Strong computer knowledge, especially Excel and Word
● Previous transportation / delivery dispatch experience preferred
● Managerial Experience with excellent decision making ability
● Ability and willingness to work independently
Physical Demands:
● Sufficient manual dexterity to operate business equipment including, but not limited to, forklifts, hand jacks, etc.
● Climbing stairs and inclined surfaces on an occasional basis
● Walking on hard surfaces on a frequent basis
● Frequent exposure to temperatures ranging from 30 - 100 degrees F on a seasonal basis
● Two handed lifting of up to 40 pounds from floor to shoulder height on an occasional basis
● Two handed lifting of kegs up to 160 pounds from floor to waist
