SUMMARY: This position is responsible for working collaboratively with the dental team to make quality patient care a priority; greeting and preparing dental patients for care, assist dentists in a positive manner while administering care, and maintaining instruments and supplies; performing basic and moderately complex dental procedures; interacting with patients to provide information about products and services; handling and resolving patient concerns with enthusiasm and empathy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets and prepares patients for treatment in a timely, delightful, enthusiastic, and professional way.
- Assists the dentist chairside in four-handed dentistry practice.
- Sterilizes and prepares instruments.
- Prepares proper tray setups prior to dental procedures.
- Disinfects and prepares treatment room.
- Takes high quality impression; pours and trims model.
- Makes temporary crowns.
- Exposes, develops, and mounts quality x-rays.
- Update’s patient charts and thoroughly documents as needed.
- Schedule’s patient appointments in an efficient manner to maximizes provider’s schedule.
- Assists patient with any follow-up regarding treatment, treatment planning, estimates, and payment.
- Answer’s treatment questions posed by patients.
- Handles patient concerns in a friendly, professional way.
- Ensures patient comfort.
- Reviews schedules for accuracy and productivity.
- Confirms patient appointments.
- Prepares and documents referral information.
- Documents and maintains files and financial records; observes absolute confidentiality.
- Adheres to OSHA guidelines.
- Performs equipment maintenance.
- Maintains inventory and orders clinical supplies.
- Maintains neat and clean clinical area.
- Adheres to HIPAA privacy policy.
- Follows all Standard Operating Procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma
- Certificates, licenses, and registrations required:
- CPR Certification.
- OSHA Certification.
- Dental Assisting National Board Certification.
- Computer skills required: Basic Computer Skills
- Other skills required:
- 1+ years’ experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication/documentation skills.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- Manual dexterity and precision.
