Job Description

At River Run Dental Spa in Colonial Heights, VA, our team of dentists and hygienists do everything from dental cleanings to crowns to dentures to tooth extractions. Together we diagnose, treat, and manage our patients’ overall oral healthcare needs. We focus on preventing oral disease whenever possible and pride ourselves on quality routine dental care.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and caring Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in assisting our dentists and hygienists, ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic, and delivering exceptional patient experiences. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with a strong commitment to patient care. 

 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Chairside Assistance: Support the dentist during procedures, managing instruments, suctioning, and ensuring patient comfort
  • Patient Care: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, organized environment
  • X-Ray Imaging: Capture dental X-rays, adhering to safety protocols
  • Patient Education: Guide patients on oral hygiene, post-op care, and treatment options
  • Records Management: Accurately update patient records and dental charts in EHR systems
  • Infection Control: Strictly follow sterilization and disinfection protocols
  • Appointment Scheduling: Help manage and confirm patient appointments
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the dental team to ensure smooth patient flow and support

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Dental Assistant certification.  
  • X-ray certification  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficient in dental procedures and instrument handling
  • Thorough understanding of infection control protocols and OSHA standards
  • A compassionate approach to patient care and comfort
