Dental Assistant I



About Smile Starters

Responsibilities




  • Welcome patients and families to the office with professionalism and warmth

  • Conduct pre- and post operative consultations

  • Prepare patients for treatments or checkups, ensuring comfort and reassurance

  • Select, prepare, and arrange instruments, equipment, and materials for procedures

  • Sterilize instruments according to OSHA and CDC standards

  • Assist dentists chairside using 4-handed dentistry techniques

  • Complete lab-related tasks as instructed

  • Provide oral hygiene and post operative care instructions

  • Maintain clean, stocked, and organized operatories

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage accurate records

  • Collaborate with the team and perform other duties as assigned







Skills & Attributes




  • Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and infection control procedures

  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a clinical setting

  • Proficiency with dental office software and scheduling systems

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and team members

  • Organized, detail oriented, and dependable

  • Thrives in a busy, team-focused environment

  • Additional certifications such as N2O administration a plus

  • Bilingual abilities a plus
