Responsibilities




  • Welcome patients and families to the office with professionalism and warmth

  • Conduct pre- and post-operative patient consultations

  • Prepare patients for treatments or checkups, ensuring comfort

  • Select, prepare, and arrange instruments, equipment, and materials for procedures

  • Sterilize instruments according to regulatory standards

  • Assist the dentist with all aspects of ortho procedures (bonding/maintenance)

  • Perform lab-related tasks as instructed

  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked operatory

  • Schedule appointments and assist with payment procedures

  • Maintain accurate patient records

  • Support the dental team with other duties as assigned







Skills & Attributes




  • Proven experience as a Ortho dental assistant

  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods

  • Understanding of health and safety regulations

  • Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks (e.g., coronal polishing) is a plus

  • Strong computer skills for scheduling and record-keeping

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable

  • Thrives in a busy, active work environment

  • Additional certifications or training are an asset

  • Bilingual abilities a plus







Requirements




  • CPR Certification
