Job Description

Panama City Family Dentistry is seeking a dedicated, skilled and experienced Dental Assistant to join our friendly and professional team. This position requires proficiency in dental assisting techniques, familiarity with dental software systems, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and patient comfort. Responsibilities:

  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.

  • Perform medical imaging, including X-rays and ensure proper documentation of patient records.

  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and manage patient files in compliance with regulations.

  • Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure a clean working environment throughout the office.

  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.

  • Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow within the office.

  • Utilize dental software systems for patient management and record keeping.

  • Support patients with a friendly demeanor, ensuring their comfort during visits.

  • Stay updated on dental terminology and advancements in dental assisting.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in an office is preferred, but will train the right candidate.

  • Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and familiarity with dental terminology.

  • Knowledge of general dentistry practices and procedures.

  • Experience with dental management software is a plus.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in dental documentation.

  • Commitment to upholding safety standards and infection control protocols within the dental office.

  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, including children, and team members.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
