Job Description

Team Perio is growing, and we are looking for awesome people to join our team. Our practices are owned by one doctor and managed by a team of people united by the goal of helping as many patients as possible experience dental surgery in a positive way. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent patient experiences and work well within a team. This is a full-time position with benefits.

Responsibilities of Surgical Assistant

  • Prepare the operatory and equipment

  • Greet and escort patients to and from the treatment room

  • Prepare the patient for surgery or examination

  • Maintain awareness of patients’ comfort and safety needs

  • Record treatment information in the patient’s chart

  • Assist the doctor by passing instruments, aspirating intra-oral fluids, and taking photographs

  • Take radiographs as directed by the doctor

  • Provide post-operative care to patients as directed by the doctor

  • Communicate with other essential team members to coordinate patient flow and comfort

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements of Surgical Assistant

  • CPR and First Aid certification

  • Valid X-ray certificate

  • Sustained positivity and energy throughout the day

  • Communicate clearly with patients and all team members

  • Attention to detail

  • Professionalism

Compensation and Benefits

  • Wage: $22–$28 per hour (DOE)

  • 90-day review and wage assessment, with potential for an increase

  • 36-40 hour work week

  • Health insurance benefits available after 30 days; all other benefits are eligible after a 90-day probationary period

  • 5 days of sick pay per year

  • 5 paid holidays
