Description

The Destination Sales Manager is responsible for driving group business, business transient and luxury leisure to the hotel by promoting the property as a destination for discerning travelers and elevated events and experiences. This role cultivates key relationships with meeting planners, travel advisors, and luxury consortia to maximize revenue across rooms, events, and ancillary services. The Destination Sales Manager is also responsible for actively selling corporate catering events and wedding and social room blocks, as well as driving negotiated corporate transient business to the hotel by managing key corporate accounts, such as UCSB, and developing new opportunities.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Coordinates and executes all site inspections/visits at the property for remote sales managers.

· Partners with the Director of National Accounts to develop creative aspects of the site visit

· Gathers all important customer data from the Director of National Accounts in order to plan appropriately (e.g. customers goals, specific needs, key account info, etc.).

· Understands competitors’ strengths and weaknesses in order to differentiate Hotel Californian from the competition during the site visit and understands overall market trends.

· Provides expert knowledge on local destination (e.g., local attractions, events, etc.)

· Solicits new accounts to meet and exceed individual quarterly and annual Sales booking goals through proactive sales efforts and grows existing accounts, such as UCSB.

· Handles the review, proposal, negotiation, and contracting of inbound inquiries in designated market segment(s).

· Maximizes revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, including guestrooms, room rental, food and beverage, and other revenue-generating opportunities.

· Supports and promotes team accountability to drive superior business results, including the successful execution of Sales strategies and business processes.

· Negotiates effectively to achieve maximum revenue for hotels while meeting and/or exceeding clients’ needs.

· Executes and supports the administrative aspects of booked business (proposals, contracts, customer correspondence), resolves any issues, complaints, or problems to ensure a quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

· Must be proficient in event contractual agreements, strategic negotiations, quoting pricing, and the management of accounts.

· Proven track record of building and maintaining business relationships that result in meeting or exceeding Sales booking goals.

· Ability to think clearly, quickly, and strategically to make concise decisions.

· Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to prioritize and organize workload to ensure deadlines are met.

· Knowledge of local market trends and industry best practices
