Job Description:
We are seeking a highly seasoned, GCP DevOps/Data Architect at Ascendion designs and scales cloud-native architectures, builds CI/CD and MLOps pipelines, and integrates AI tools (like Copilot or Gemini) to optimize engineering. Technical Skills & Requirements:
- Design, build, and operate enterprise‑scale GCP platforms with strong focus on security, scalability, and operational excellence
- Manage and support Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters hosting both application and data ingestion / processing workloads
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build for platform services, data pipelines, and containerized workloads
- Operate and manage Artifact Registry for container images and data‑related artifacts
- Provision and manage GCP infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, supporting multiple environments (Dev, UAT, Prod)
- Design and maintain GCP networking for data platforms, including VPCs, Shared VPCs, load balancers, NAT, and private access
- Partner with data engineering teams to enable reliable deployment and operation of data pipelines, orchestration tools, and ingestion services
- Implement IAM, secrets management, and encryption controls to support secure access to data platforms and services
- Ensure platform observability for both infrastructure and data workloads using Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging
- Support production operations, perform troubleshooting, and participate in incident resolution for platform and data services
- Contribute to platform standards, documentation, and continuous improvement of DevOps and data‑enablement practices
Key Responsibilities:
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps / Platform Engineering, primarily on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong expertise in GCP Organization, Folder, and Project structures, governance, and environment isolation
- Advanced hands‑on experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), including private clusters and node pool management
- Experience supporting containerized data workloads (ingestion services, orchestration tools, batch or streaming jobs) on GKE
- Strong experience with Compute Engine and working knowledge of Cloud Run
- Extensive experience with GCP networking, including:
- VPC and Shared VPC design
- Cloud Load Balancing
- Cloud NAT, Private Google Access, and Cloud DNS
- Cloud VPN and Cloud Interconnect
- Hands‑on experience building CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build
- Experience managing artifacts and container images using Artifact Registry
- Strong experience using Terraform to provision and manage GCP infrastructure
- Proficiency with Cloud IAM, service accounts, and workload identity
- Hands‑on experience with Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging, including dashboards and alerts for data pipelines
- Experience with Secret Manager and Cloud KMS
- Operational knowledge of Cloud Storage, including lifecycle policies and access controls
- Strong automation skills using Python, Bash, YAML, and gcloud CLI
