JOB SUMMARY:
The Dietetics Custodian performs a variety of custodial duties such as; sweeping, mopping, trash & grease disposal and cleaning assigned areas. Unpacks, stores and stocks dietary supplies according to safe and sanitary standards, and inspects for any damaged merchandise when unloading supplies. Delivers and returns racks and food trucks to and from patient floor areas. Inventories food/meat freezer items, works as a team player, and assists with new personnel training. Will follow BRHC and Dietetics Department policies & procedures.
The Dietetics Custodian reports directly to Dietetics Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Able to read, write and follow both oral/written directions.
Licensure/Certification:
None required.
Work Experience:
Previous custodial and stockroom experience desirable.
Will provide on-the-job training.
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
Routinely cleans and maintains safety & sanitation standards of storerooms, coolers, freezers, production areas, cafeteria/patient serving areas, bathrooms, department offices and floors using proper cleaning equipment & chemicals.

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:

Delivering and returning food trucks and racks to and from patient floor areas by observing safety and sanitation standards.
Accurately and efficiently does weekly inventory of freezers, storing and/or unpacking all incoming purchases & requisitions by rotating stock and maintaining stock levels in specific work areas. Brings out and returns meat items from freezer into cooler for thawing purposes following sanitation/safety standards.
Removal of all department/cafeteria trash, grease, glass, china and aerosols per BRHC and Dietetics Department policies & procedures. Follows assigned cleaning schedules for Dietetics Department.
Obtains/changes soda and CO2 tanks for cafeteria as needed and performs all duties on the department worksheets.
Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Exposed to extreme cold temperatures when performing certain assigned duties.
2. Must be familiar with various cuts of meat, canned goods, fresh produce, non-food supplies and small equipment.
3. Standing and/or walking most of working time.
4. Exposed to cleaning chemicals.
5. Works indoors in a well-lighted area.
6. Moderate to heavy lifting.
7. Stoops, bends, reaches overhead, pushes & pulls when performing assigned duties.
8. Subject to the use of small & large food institutional equipment.
