Caldwell University invites applications for a full-time Director, Campus Ministry. Reporting to the President, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing programs that embrace the Catholic Dominican mission while fostering the spiritual and religious needs of the Caldwell University community. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Developing a vibrant liturgical and sacramental life on campus through coordinating and implementing worship and liturgical services.
Ensuring the Sacramental presence of a priest while planning, organizing and attending campus masses, including, but not limited to, Mass of the Holy Spirit, Advent/Christmas Mass, St. Thomas Aquinas Mass, Founders Day Mass, Commencement Mass, Sunday Masses on campus.
Animating Caldwell University’s core values of Respect, Integrity, Community, and Excellence by providing opportunities for students to gather.
Providing pastoral direction for individuals or small groups and making referrals to other services when needed.
Planning, promoting and executing on-campus and off-campus retreats, renewal experiences and faith based social activities for students.
Coordinating the recruitment and training of liturgical ministers (greeters/ministers of hospitality, lectors, and Eucharistic ministers) and assisting in the recruitment of music ministers for the liturgy.
Overseeing the OCIA - Order of Christian Initiation for Adults process by inviting the campus and facilitating the program
Planning, organizing and implementing faith based volunteer opportunities for the campus community.
Planning and implementing the annual Caldwell Day of Service.
Embracing an ecumenical philosophical approach in guiding students, planning programs, and facilitating an inclusive environment for all faith traditions.
Disseminating campus ministry events, news and information to the entire University community. (i.e., social media, word of mouth, personal invitation, newsletter, Monday Morning, SGA, Student Engagement announcements).
Maintaining a visible and active presence in the campus community, especially among students to enhance our Catholic Dominican identity and promote spiritual growth.
Coordinating student participation and attending the Dominican Preaching Conference.
Seeking grant-funded opportunities with the OPSCC.
Assisting in coordinating the celebration of key moments of the Dominican Tradition.
Participating in campus-wide programs and activities.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Master’s degree preferred, plus three or more years of effective experience is required. Must be available for occasional travel and to work nights and weekends as needed. A valid driver’s license is also required.
