Job Description

Position Overview

The Director – Health &
Rehabilitation
will lead APD’s strategic and operational efforts in Early
Intervention and Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation. This role demands a
visionary leader with experience managing large-scale, multi-geographic
programs, advanced rehabilitation techniques, and technology-enabled solutions.
The Director will work closely with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders
to ensure sustainable growth and measurable impact.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Program
Oversight

  • Lead the strategic direction of Health & Rehabilitation
    programs, ensuring alignment with APD’s mission and values.

  • Oversee multi-state rehabilitation initiatives, ensuring high
    standards of quality and scalability.

  • Design and implement innovative frameworks, including
    technology-assisted delivery models and digital tools for rehabilitation.

  • Develop program manuals, SOPs, and scalable interventions for
    Early Intervention and SCIR.

Operational Excellence and Team
Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a large team, fostering a culture of
    collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

  • Ensure alignment across programs and functional teams for
    seamless execution of initiatives.

  • Build second-line leadership capacity through structured
    training and mentoring programs.

Research, Advocacy, and External
Representation

  • Spearhead applied research initiatives, contributing to
    knowledge in the fields of rehabilitation and disability.

  • Represent APD at national and international forums, advocating
    for inclusive health policies and practices.

  • Establish partnerships with universities to develop fellowship
    programs and collaborative initiatives.

Partnership and Stakeholder Management

  • Forge and sustain strategic partnerships with government
    bodies, NGOs, and technical collaborators.

  • Expand APD’s influence in the rehabilitation space through
    partnerships, joint ventures, and advocacy campaigns.

Financial Oversight and Resource
Mobilization

  • Oversee financial planning and donor reporting for all
    programs, ensuring transparency and compliance.

  • Work with the leadership team to identify and secure funding
    for new and existing programs.

 

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Master’s degree or higher in Physiotherapy, Occupational
    Therapy, Public Health, Rehabilitation Sciences, or related fields.

Experience

  • Must-have:
    • 12-15 years of progressive experience in health program
      management and rehabilitation services.

    • Proven track record of managing large teams and complex,
      multi-geographic operations.

    • Strong expertise in Early Intervention and Spinal Cord Injury
      rehabilitation.

  • Good-to-have:
    • Experience in technology-assisted program delivery.
    • Published research or experience in advocacy and policymaking.
