Director of Marketing


Position Summary


The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing the company's marketing strategy to drive awareness, customer acquisition, product preference, and revenue growth. This leader will shape the company's market positioning, messaging, and demand generation initiatives while ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and commercial objectives.

 

The Director of Marketing will lead downstream marketing programs, market intelligence efforts, campaign development, and external communications to support sustainable business growth and strengthen the company's leadership position in sepsis diagnostics.

 

This position is based onsite at our Seattle headquarters.



Key Responsibilities


Strategic Marketing Leadership & KOL Development

  • Shape and communicate the company's value proposition, positioning, and market differentiation.
  • Develop marketing strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and industry developments.
  • Provide market insights to support strategic planning and commercial decision-making.
  • Develop and execute a structured KOL engagement strategy that builds advocacy, informs messaging and product positioning, and generates publishable real-world evidence.
  • Manage advisory boards, speaker bureaus, and peer-to-peer programs, ensuring strong scientific exchange and compliant execution.

 

Brand Management & Product Positioning

  • Develop messaging frameworks for products, solutions, and key customer segments and ensure consistent messaging across all customer-facing channels.
  • Identify, cultivate, grow, and manage relationships with key opinion leaders, clinical champions, and thought leaders across infectious disease, microbiology, laboratory medicine, emergency medicine, critical care, nursing, and hospital quality and patient safety.
  • Maintain and evolve brand standards and positioning.
  • Support product launches and commercialization initiatives.

 

Demand Generation & Growth Marketing

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, lead generation, and revenue growth.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of evidence-based content with customers, including white papers, scientific posters, peer-reviewed publications, and outputs from the Magnolia AI platform that demonstrate real-world success with conversion to ISDD.
  • Create targeted marketing initiatives for clinical, scientific, technical, and hospital-based stakeholders.
  • Manage digital marketing, content development, events, webinars, and promotional activities.
  • Track campaign performance and optimize programs based on ROI and business impact.

 

Marketing Operations & Analytics

  • Build dashboards and reporting that surface real-world performance data for use across sales enablement, KOL engagement, and executive communications..
  • Manage marketing budgets and resource allocation.
  • Utilize CRM and marketing automation tools to measure campaign effectiveness and pipeline contribution.
  • Provide regular reporting on marketing performance and business outcomes.

 

Agency & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with external agencies, consultants, and vendors.
  • Design, launch, and manage integrated marketing programs that drive clinical awareness, education, trial, adoption, and full conversion to Steripath as the standard of care.
  • Develop program assets and tactics including peer-to-peer education, webinars, conference and congress presence, clinical case studies, customer success stories, and onboarding and implementation resources.
  • Oversee creative development and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and maximize return on marketing investments.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Sales, Clinical Affairs, Product Management, and Executive Leadership.
  • Ensure marketing initiatives support all commercial objectives and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement to translate marketing strategies into field-ready tools and resources.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Advertising, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience.
  • Proven success developing and executing demand generation and growth marketing programs.
  • Experience in healthcare, medical device, diagnostics, biotechnology, or related industries strongly preferred.
  • Experience marketing to clinical, scientific, technical, or hospital-based audiences.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and budget management skills.
  • Experience managing agencies and external vendors.
