JOB DESCRIPTION
The Regional Director of Business Development and Community Residential Operations provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for Community Options residential sites supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in the state of Illinois. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, person-centered residential services that promote independence, dignity, and community integration. The director ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, leads and supports a multidisciplinary team, and drives continuous improvement in service delivery and regional growth. The position collaborates closely with families, guardians, contracted providers, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for all people served.
Requirements
Education/Experience Requirements
o Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, public administration/public health, business administration, health services administration, or a related field required. Master’s degree/MBA preferred.
o Minimum of 5 years of experience with business development, strategy planning, and/or strategic sales and marketing.
o Minimum of 5 years of formal leadership (supervisory or higher) experience. Experience with the I/DD population, especially with host home residential leadership experience preferred.
o Combination of experience and education may be considered.
o Knowledge of Illinois CILA regulations, Medicaid waiver programs, and person-centered planning strongly preferred.
o Experience managing multi-site programs, including budgeting, staffing, and quality assurance.
o Able to pass a criminal background check.
o Possess a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and must have reliable transportation.

As the Director of Business Development & Community Residential Operations you will also play a key you in helping individual team members understand their strengths and contributions. Encourage team members to identify solutions to address challenges as they occur within the department. Encourage and support each team member’s professional growth. Recruit, hire, and retain professionals with skills and experience that meet the needs of the people we support Ensure new team members are effectively oriented and subsequently trained to ensure the people served are qualitatively supported. Complete all payroll and personnel tasks within the specified timeline. This may include creating schedules, verifying timecards, processing Paid Leave requests, and administering Intermittent FMLA and VESSA. Track tardiness and absences and follow up with any employee issues promptly. Ensure that all procedures, protocols, and forms are available and up to date
