Job Title: Director of Sales & Marketing                     

FLSA Status: Non-exempt                                                      

Salary Level: $100,000 - $160,000 & Bonus Eligible

Reports to: CEO                                                               

Supervises: Sales Managers, Business Development, Product Marketing Manager, & Product Managers

Suburban is looking for a strategic and people-focused Director of Sales to help lead the next phase of growth across our three brands — Python, Tsunami, and LubeMinder. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll partner directly with the CEO to shape commercial strategy, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and drive revenue growth in a dynamic B2B manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

Drive Commercial Strategy

  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to define and execute company-wide commercial strategy.
  • Develop sales initiatives that support growth, market expansion, and long-term business goals.
  • Monitor performance metrics, identify opportunities, and adjust strategies to maximize results.
  • Align commercial efforts with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to ensure organizational success.

Lead Sales Execution

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing leaders to execute growth strategies across all brands.
  • Support product launches, go-to-market initiatives, and revenue-driving campaigns.
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans that improve customer engagement and sales performance.

Develop High-Performing Teams

  • Coach, mentor, and support sales and marketing professionals through growth and development.
  • Foster a culture built on accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead performance management, goal setting, hiring, onboarding, and employee development initiatives.

Influence Organizational Success

  • Contribute to budgeting, strategic planning, and company-wide leadership initiatives.
  • Represent the voice of sales and marketing in key operational and customer experience decisions.
  • Help build scalable processes, strong communication, and cross-functional alignment across the organization.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of sales leadership or management experience.
  • Proven success leading teams in a B2B manufacturing environment, ideally involving industrial equipment or engineered products.
  • Strong experience developing and executing sales strategies that drive growth and customer retention.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating and closing opportunities across varying sales cycles.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong leadership and team development abilities.
  • Experience with CRM systems, forecasting tools, and reporting dashboards.
  • Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis.
  • Knowledge of pipeline management, customer acquisition, product positioning, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across departments and leadership levels.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
