DISTRICT MANAGER  

Full-Time Exempt  

Reports to: Regional Vice President  

West Region - District 1 (Redding, Rocklin, Folsom, Granite Bay, Market Square, Elk Grove) 

We are seeking a District Manager who embodies and champions our culture of Duty, Dare, Drive, and Dream—a leader who models accountability, takes bold action, delivers results, and inspires teams to think bigger—while driving performance, operational excellence, and the development of high-performing teams across multiple Crunch Fitness locations. 

This role is offered by JEM Wellness Brands, the proud franchise operator of Crunch Fitness, the “No Judgment Gym” known for fun, effective workouts. Crunch ranks #1 in fitness and #32 overall on Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 (2025), with 3M members, 500+ locations, and its new Crunch 3.0 gym design.

Position Overview 

The District Manager (DM) is responsible for leading multiple Crunch Fitness locations within their market, driving revenue growth, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering an exceptional member experience. This role requires a results-oriented leader who can develop high-performing teams, execute on business objectives, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

District Manager Responsibilities 

Leadership & Team Development 

  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain high-performing General Managers and leadership teams across multiple locations. 
  • Build a strong pipeline of future leaders through coaching, mentorship, and development planning. 
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback, address gaps, and ensure accountability at all levels. 
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture aligned with company values: Resilience, Service, Transformation, and Excellence. 
  • Lead regular leadership meetings to align on priorities, performance, and development. 
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, engagement, and professional growth. 

Sales & Revenue Performance 

  • Drive district-wide membership growth, lead generation, and retention. 
  • Lead and motivate teams to consistently achieve and exceed sales targets. 
  • Execute company sales strategies, promotions, and initiatives to maximize conversion. 
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and implement proactive actions to improve results. 
  • Ensure accurate lead tracking, reporting, and execution of sales processes. 
  • Build community partnerships and support local marketing efforts to increase brand awareness. 

Operations & Execution 

  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies, SOPs, and operational standards across all clubs. 
  • Oversee cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and brand presentation. 
  • Maintain a strong in-club presence, providing hands-on leadership and support. 
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Fitness, Marketing, HR, IT, and Accounting teams. 
  • Lead and support new club openings, transitions, remodels, and special projects. 
  • Oversee district-level pilots and initiatives, evaluating results and recommending scalable solutions. 

Financial & Business Management 

  • Own district performance against budget, P&L, and key operating metrics. 
  • Monitor revenue, expenses, labor, and profitability across all locations. 
  • Analyze trends, identify risks and opportunities, and implement corrective action plans. 
  • Maintain fiscal discipline and accountability across the district. 
  • Provide regular business updates, insights, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. 
  • Support decision-making related to staffing, pricing, promotions, and capital investments. 

Member Experience 

  • Champion a best-in-class, high-energy member experience across all locations. 
  • Ensure teams consistently deliver exceptional service and engagement. 
  • Resolve escalated member concerns and implement sustainable improvements. 
  • Promote a positive, motivating environment for both members and team members. 

Compliance & Administration 

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, compliance standards, and employment practices. 
  • Oversee labor management, scheduling, and timekeeping practices. 
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of operational standards across all locations. 
  • Make sound decisions on personnel matters in alignment with company guidelines. 

Accountabilities 

  • Achieve district-wide membership, revenue, and performance goals. 
  • Deliver consistent operational excellence across all locations. 
  • Build, develop, and retain high-performing leadership teams. 
  • Ensure exceptional member experiences that drive retention and loyalty. 

Required Skills & Experience 

  • 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience managing multi-level teams, with demonstrated results and increasing scope of responsibility. 
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience managing P&L performance, budgets, and operating metrics. 
  • Proven ability to recruit, assess, and develop talent, and manage performance effectively. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and take action. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across levels. 
  • Working knowledge of labor management, compliance requirements, and employment practices. 
  • Proficiency with business systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Ability to lead through change, ambiguity, and competing priorities. 
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and time management skills across multiple locations. 
  • Must reside in the assigned market or maintain consistent in-market presence. 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. 
  • CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).

Preferred Experience 

  • 5+ years of management experience.  
  • Multi-unit management experience. 
  • Fitness, hospitality, or service industry experience. 

Physical Requirements  

  • This is a physical role requiring the employee to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may require standing or bending for prolonged work hours. 

Travel Requirements 

  • Frequent travel between assigned club locations throughout the workweek. 
  • Occasional air and car travel for meetings, training, and company events. 

Education Requirements  

  • High school diploma or GED required  
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field preferred 

Additional Expectations 

  • Successful completion of a structured onboarding program, including training to build operational expertise prior to full district leadership responsibilities. 
  • Senior-level leaders in this role are expected to consistently demonstrate strong judgment, making thoughtful, timely decisions that align with business objectives, people impact, and company values. 

Schedule Requirement 

This position is designated as a day-shift role. Employees must be available and flexible to work any day of the week, Monday through Sunday, as scheduled by the Company. Work schedules may vary based on business needs. 

Compensation (Salary)

  • $90,000 - $115,000 per year

  • Potential Annual Bonus of $60,000
