Description

 

Haynes Furniture and The Dump are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Driver to support our distribution and retail operations. This position is responsible for transporting trailers, containers, and merchandise between company locations while ensuring compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Drivers play a critical role in maintaining the efficient flow of inventory and supporting store operations through timely deliveries, accurate documentation, and safe handling of merchandise.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, adaptable to changing business needs, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of two (2) years of commercial tractor-trailer driving experience
• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), as required for the position
• Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card)
• Clean driving record and ability to maintain a favorable CSA safety score
• Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and CSA regulations
• Ability to accurately complete driver logs, inspections, and required transportation documentation
• Ability to successfully complete all DOT-required pre-employment screening, including motor vehicle record review, employment verification, and FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements
• Ability to provide prior commercial driving and safety-sensitive employment history as required by federal regulations
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor vehicle repairs when necessary
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing schedules, and maintain regular attendance
• Ability to safely load, unload, and transport merchandise as required
• Ability to lift and move furniture weighing up to 75 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, and drive for extended periods of time
• Must be able to stand, walk, drive, and sit for extended periods of time
• Must maintain regular attendance and report to work as scheduled
