What We're Looking For:
· Responsibilities of the Dry Process Associate consist of working in all areas of the dry plant (control room, lab, housekeeping, loader, and general plant duties)
Perform pre-shift inspection of equipment
Complete daily examination of workspace
Remain clean-shaven and respirator fit-tested
Communication with other plant associates
Perform or assist maintenance duties
· Control room operation includes running the dryers and screen houses using the PLC. Specific duties of this role include:
Drying sand as efficiently as possible
Choosing blends to efficiently meet our specifications
Strategize for sand storage locations
Completing production orders at the end of every shift
Troubleshooting equipment and sand flows
Filing and recording safety and environmental compliance information, etc.
Completing the shift changeover sheet
Recording the blends
· The lab tech is responsible for testing the sand that is being dried and screened. Specific duties of this role include:
Getting samples
Collecting samples for troubleshooting or quality assurance
Collecting pit runs and production samples
Running a sieve analysis and NTU
Recording test results in the quality system
Calibrating the lab equipment
Collecting monthly crush samples
Vacuuming the lab/control room
Troubleshooting screens and blends
· The housekeeping role responsibilities and duties include:
Workplace examinations/inspections
Walk all areas and inspect for hazards
Daily clean up
Troubleshooting equipment failure or process flows
Patch leaks
Performing weekly screen checks and screen changes
Operation of skid steers
General housekeeping
Troubleshooting equipment and process flows
· The loader’s roles and responsibilities include:
Operation of loaders and other rental/new purchased equipment
Grease loader once per shift or check auto-greaser
Load sand from the stockpiles to the hoppers
Ensure consistent/efficient feed to the Dry Plant
Load trucks
Haul waste sand
Clean rock and non-conforming bins
Ability to cross-train and help in other areas of the plant
Requirements
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· High school diploma
· Basic math and reading skills
· Legible handwriting
· Computer skills
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Good decision making and problem-solving skills
· Basic maintenance skills
· Experience in inventory control, equipment operation, housekeeping, and quality testing a plus
Equipment Operation
Summary
The Dry Process Associate upholds safe and efficient operation of the dry process; this includes drying, screening and blending of sand products to meet quality, production and customer needs. Associates will rotate between different roles within the dry plant including the control room, lab tech, housekeeping and Loader Operator. Must be capable of managing or controlling multiple product lines, which includes run out of grades to separate storage locations. Associate focus includes meeting customer needs, running the plant efficiently, and complying with quality, environmental, and safety parameters. Associates are also responsible for housekeeping in the dry plant area.
