We are looking for an E&S Filings Specialist to join our team in any of our PHLY offices!

Summary:
Manage proper handling of E&S Lines policies requiring Tax and Fee Filing services for assigned states. Verify proper Home State, Due Diligence and the “Stamping” of state specific verbiage on policy declarations pages. Remit Filings for policies and appropriate taxes and fees directly to state Departments of Insurance.


A typical day will include the following:

  • Prepares and submits Surplus Lines Filing information to state regulatory agency.

  • Reviews policy information and identifies the Home State of the Insured Business. Verifies that all required documentation has been received as outlined with the Home State of the Insured Business and that the paperwork is accurately completed. .

  • Verifies that a diligent effort has been made to place the policy with the Admitted Market first in accordance with state guidelines as outlined by the home state of the insured business

  • Applies appropriate “Stamp” to the policy Declarations with state specific verbiage

  • Researches state changes, resolves problems with Filings as well as assists with periodic state audits.

  • Accurately calculates state and/or municipal taxes. Remits state taxes and stamping fees to state regulatory agency. Reconciles state taxes quarterly, semi-annually or annually as required by the respective state.

  • Acts as a resource to internal peers/customers requiring assistance throughout the Filing process

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within the insurance industry either at the agency level or company level

  • Previous experience working within a highly regulated industry.

  • Intermediate level Excel user

  • Strong communication skills, strong problem solving ability and a strong ability to manage through change.

  • High attention to detail, accuracy and demonstrated business math competency.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Microsoft OneNote

  • Demonstrated ability to focus and deliver superior customer service to internal and external customers

  • Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree Preferred, will accept relevant insurance designation and/or minimum of 3 years’ experience in the insurance industry in lieu of Undergraduate Degree

  • 2-3 years of experience in insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industry
