Position Summary: The Operations Support & EHS Coordinator plays a dual role in supporting manufacturing operations and ensuring environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate operational data, supporting production processes, and leading safety and environmental initiatives. The role ensures operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and a safe working environment by combining data-driven operational support with proactive EHS program management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

EHS Program Management

  • Manage day-to-day EHS program requirements in alignment with corporate policies and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct safety and environmental training, safety meetings, audits, inspections, and observations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements for employees, contractors, and vendors. 
  • Compile and report EHS performance data and KPIs to site and corporate leadership.
  • Assist with implementation and updates of corporate safety programs, policies, and procedures. 
  • Support regulatory reporting and respond to agency inquiries in coordination with EHS leadership.

Incident Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Respond to, document, and investigate workplace incidents involving employees, property, or contractors. 
  • Conduct root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Why methodology) to prevent recurrence.
  • Analyze safety and operational data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.  
  • Partner with operations and leadership to implement corrective actions and process improvements.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work cross-functionally with operations, HR, and EHS leadership to support business objectives.
  • Provide clear, accurate reporting and presentations to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Support training initiatives, employee engagement, and a strong safety culture across the site.

Operations Support

  • Perform basic SAP transactions including data entry, material lookups, and inventory checks to support daily production needs.
  • Collect, analyze, and organize production data; maintain production boards and visual management tools (e.g., Glass Wall) with accurate, up-to-date information.
  • Present operational data, trends, and performance insights to teams and leadership.
  • Monitor Material Usage Variance (MUV) and yield; ensure proper material usage and adherence to FIFO practices.
  • Track and maintain inventory accuracy; investigate discrepancies and communicate findings to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

 

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, EHS, or a related field, or an associate’s degree in safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or similar discipline.
  • Experience with EHS compliance, safety programs, and/or operational data analysis.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with inventory management and production reporting
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance programs (e.g., SPCC, SWPPP, NPDES)
  • Background in continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
