Electrical Engineer
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the selection and specifications of CNC controls, electrical hardware, and creation of schematics for high precision turning and ID/OD grinding machines. In addition, the Electrical Engineer will support automation integrations for the machines.

EDUCATION:
?
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required.

EXPERIENCE:
?
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in electrical design required. Experience with Siemens or Fanuc CNC controls preferred.
Demonstrated competency in 2D and/or 3D CAD is required.
Hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
Ability to take both written and verbal instructions. Strong oral and written communication skills required.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professional demeanor and discretion in handling confidential information. Ability to work efficiently with a team of design and project engineers required.

SPECIFIC TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of common sensors, valves, and switches found on CNC machine tools.
- Experience in power case design and motion control.
- Experience with CNC tools and Siemens and/or Fanuc CNC controls.
- Knowledge of CE European safety and/or NFPA 79 codes.
- Experience with sizing and specifying electrical components such as servo motors, contactors, and overcurrent protection.
- Knowledge of common ECO/ECN and design submission/review processes

REPORTS TO: Engineering Design Manager/Lead

LOCATION: Elgin, IL with possibility of hybrid/remote with relevant experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use CAD to design electrical schematics for CNC machine tools.
- Design power case panel layouts and assemblies.
- Determine proper sizing and specifications of electrical components based on application.
- Use CAD to generate BOM?s.
- Gather feedback from assembly to revise and adjust designs.
- Provide engineering support to customers, vendors, and sales teams for prospective project

**Travel is expected up to 10% of time.**
Compensation for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 depending on experience.
