REPORTS TO: Emergency Services Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: The Emergency Services Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting survivors of human trafficking by coordinating emergency response services, crisis intervention, and resource navigation. This position works closely with the Emergency Services Manager, direct service team, and community partners to ensure that survivors receive immediate and comprehensive care. The coordinator is responsible for crisis response, safety planning, service coordination, and maintaining partnerships with external agencies to facilitate emergency housing, legal support, and trauma-informed services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will oversee a holistic system of care for the survivors of human trafficking. Responsibilities include:
Crisis Response & Intervention
-Provide immediate crisis response and support to survivors of human trafficking, ensuring their safety and emotional well-being.
-Conduct safety assessments and develop individualized safety and crisis intervention plans.
-Assist in emergency relocations, including securing safe housing and coordinating transportation.
-Collaborate with law enforcement, medical personnel, and social service agencies to facilitate emergency care.
-Be on-call on a rotating basis for after-hours and weekend emergencies; provide on-call support when available for emergency responses, including being first point of contact for requesting on-call rotation change.
-Support Emergency Services Manager with law enforcement operations/sting preparation and implementation.
Service Coordination & Case Management
-Connect survivors with emergency shelter, medical care, legal advocacy, and other essential services.
-Work closely with the direct service team to ensure seamless transitions into long-term support programs.
-Maintain clear and accurate documentation of services provided, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with agency policies.
-Support survivors in navigating legal systems, including protective orders, immigration relief, and law enforcement coordination.
-Support other direct service staff with transportation assistance when emergency shelter is vacant.
-Support Intervention Specialist with referral documentation when emergency shelter is vacant.
-Support a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained shelter environment through regular cleaning, restocking essential items, and managing laundry services.
Training & Advocacy
-Assist in developing and delivering trauma-informed training for first responders, law enforcement, and service providers.
-Educate community partners on best practices for responding to trafficking-related emergencies.
-Advocate for survivor-centered approaches in emergency response systems and public policy initiatives.
Partnership Development & Compliance
-Develop and maintain strong relationships with emergency shelters, legal service providers, healthcare professionals, and law enforcement agencies.
-Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding victim services and emergency response.
-Participate in multi-disciplinary task forces and coalitions focused on human trafficking response.
-Maintain knowledge of human trafficking specific programs with availability.
-All other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is carried out primarily in an office setting with intermittent sitting, standing, walking, and some light physical activity. Most work is performed while sitting and using the computer, phone, and engaged in face-to-face conversation with staff and/or clients. Some car travel and use of personal vehicle is required.
This position is a hybrid position with a minimum of 4 days reporting into the office. One remote workday may be permitted only when the emergency shelter is unoccupied and with prior supervisor approval. When participants are present in the emergency shelter, the expectation is that you will work on-site.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
-Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field.
-Experience working with survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, or other trauma-affected populations preferred.
-Experience in case management or equivalent position with experience working with trauma, substance abuse, sexual exploitation, victim assistance, child protective services, youth in foster care or human trafficking populations.
-Strong crisis intervention skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
-Knowledge of trauma-informed care, victim advocacy, and survivor-centered service models.
-Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed for emergency response.
-Demonstrated ability to understand and implement best practices around services for at-risk individuals and families.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple agencies.
-Computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.
-A working knowledge of community mainstream resources.
-People-oriented with demonstrated ability to build rapport and gain trust with diverse populations.
-Ability and willingness to work irregular hours when survivor needs dictate. Rotating on-call hours on nights and weekends are part of this position.
-Ability to work effectively under pressure.
-Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, and prompt response to messages.
-Able to maintain confidentiality, as required by law and in the best interests of survivors, staff and the agency.
-Fast learner, quick mind, capacity for hard work, teachable and flexible.
-Valid Tennessee driver’s license, state-required driver’s insurance and access to reliable personal transportation; ability to travel throughout Middle Tennessee;
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Initial and subsequent random drug screening is required as per agency policy.
-A background check is required.
-Must be willing and able to embrace and exemplify our core values.
JOB TYPE: Full-time, typically Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (willing to work some evening and weekend hours, as needed). Some travel may be required. This position is part of an on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergencies.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Base Salary: $48,000-$56,000 based on a combination of education and experience
Benefits:
-Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance. Eligible after 30 days of employment.
-$150.00/ month for therapy reimbursement.
-120 hours PTO accrued 10 hours/month. Eligible after 30 days of employment.
-96 hours of sick leave accrued 4 hours/pay period. Eligible after 30 days of employment.
-13 paid holidays.
-4 floating holidays. Eligible after 30 days of employment, then annually.
-Short term disability, Long term disability, AD&D and Life insurance.
-Employer 403b match up to 1% of salary based on employee contributions and dependent on annual board vote. Eligible after 6 months of employment
