Title: Enterprise ServiceNow - ITAM Architect
What You'll Do:
As an ITAM Architect, you will serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader for ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) engagements and pre-sales activities, spanning both Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM). You will architect, propose, and lead solution delivery based on requirements provided by the Slalom team and clients. Your solutions will be holistic, scalable, and designed with repeatable patterns for maximum productivity. You will engage confidently with both business and technology stakeholders, demonstrating high business proficiency, professional maturity, and executive presence.
- Lead ServiceNow ITAM implementation workshops across SAM and HAM to deliver business process designs, technical requirements, user stories, and solution artifacts
- Architect end-to-end ITAM solutions including software entitlement and license compliance, software normalization, SaaS license management, software reclamation, hardware asset lifecycle management, stockroom and inventory management, lease management, and asset disposal
- Develop comprehensive solution design documents and roadmaps from complex asset, procurement, compliance, and financial requirements
- Partner with clients using a future-focused mindset to understand their software estate, hardware fleet, publisher exposure, and cost-optimization goals, aligning ServiceNow capabilities to measurable savings and reduced audit risk
- Lead and participate in design workshops, development, testing, deployment, and organizational change activities across enterprise and public sector accounts
- Architect ITAM operating models, asset governance frameworks, software reclamation and license-optimization methodologies, hardware refresh strategies, and CMDB-to-asset reconciliation approaches
- Ensure quality delivery of ITAM solutions leveraging ServiceNow best practices, platform standards, and proven implementation patterns
- Advise executive stakeholders on license compliance posture, vendor audit defense, software spend optimization, hardware lifecycle efficiency, and asset management maturity
- Mentor teammates on ITAM platform best practices including SAM Pro, HAM Pro, software normalization, Discovery integration, asset workflows, and data integrity
- Respond to Requests for Information and Proposals (RFIs/RFPs) with authoritative ITAM content, implementation approaches, and value propositions
- Contribute to practice development through delivery accelerators, thought leadership, industry insights, and ITAM-focused client offerings
- Collaborate across ServiceNow workflows including CMDB, Discovery, ITSM, ITOM, Procurement, and Financial Management to deliver integrated asset management solutions
What You'll Bring:
You are a seasoned IT asset management practitioner who thrives in complex enterprise environments and has a track record of delivering transformational ServiceNow ITAM implementations across both software and hardware domains.
- 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow ITAM design and delivery experience, with deep expertise across both Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
- Proven ability to deliver complex ITAM implementations with multiple stakeholders — recommending and executing solutions that drive measurable cost savings, compliance, and organizational alignment
- Passion for leveraging ServiceNow ITAM to reduce software and hardware spend, eliminate compliance and audit risk, and bring control and visibility to the asset estate
- Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels of an organization — from asset managers and procurement leaders to C-suite executives — translating compliance, licensing, and cost concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong consultative approach with the ability to assess ITAM maturity, define roadmaps, manage client expectations, and deliver on tight schedules with high attention to detail
- Experience leading solution design across software entitlement and compliance, license optimization, hardware lifecycle, stockroom and inventory, lease management, and asset disposal
- Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor and relationship manager to client stakeholders throughout engagement lifecycles
- Experience facilitating executive workshops focused on audit readiness, license optimization, hardware refresh planning, and asset governance
Qualifications:
- At least 5 full-lifecycle ServiceNow ITAM implementations (SAM and/or HAM) in the role of technical lead, solution architect, or enterprise architect
Required Certifications:
- Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- CIS – Data Foundations (CMDB & CSDM)
Strongly preferred:
- Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – Software Asset Management (SAM)
- Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
Platform & Integration Expertise
- Strong ServiceNow platform expertise (JavaScript, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, Workspace configurations, and Reporting/Performance Analytics)
- Strong CMDB, CSDM, and Discovery foundation knowledge, including asset/CI relationship design and reconciliation
- Experience integrating ServiceNow ITAM with ERP, procurement, HR, finance, and third-party asset/SAM tools (e.g., Flexera, Snow)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong executive presence
- Experience leading executive stakeholder discussions, business case development, and savings/ROI modeling
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience preferred
