Job Description

Job Summary:

The EH&S (Environment, Health and Safety) Compliance Administrator is responsible for ensuring that an organization operates safely, securely, and in compliance with laws and standards, while minimizing risks to people, assets, and the environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Compliance (80%)

  • Support agency and OSHA visits, monitor violations and prepare responses and reports
  • Work with HR on end of year reporting on 300 and 300A reports
  • Health: Work with policy committee on health policies and procedures, occupational health programs, health regulations and standards
  • Safety: Safety Management systems, root cause review, safety culture. MSDS data sheets.
  • Environmental: Manage waste, emissions, spills and EPA issues. SPCC plans for each location
  • Security: Emergency Response Planning, contingency and crisis management plans
  • Policy recommendations to COO/VP of HR. Guidance to JLAF Committee
  • LOD1 Audits
  • Identify trends in HSSE performance and communicate those trends either through informal means or if needed through LFIs, notices, or training

Reporting and Analytics (20%)

  • Prepare details on Recordables to report to Leadership Team and CEO
  • Diagnoses and identifies pro-active steps to avoid recurring issues.
  • Maintain incident databases and track trends to inform proactive safety strategies.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate Degree in Safety Management preferred or equivalent experience

Work Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in HSSE roles
  • OSHA, SPCC, 300/300A, EPA compliance, Evac logs, etc.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA).
  • Analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Proficiency in investigation tools and software.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and drive projects with a proactive attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel. Less than 10% of the time to field locations.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to:

  • Ascend and descend stairs.
  • Alternate between standing, sitting, crawling, kneeling, crouching/stooping.
  • Respond quickly to sounds.
  • Lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Move quickly to respond to emergency situations.
  • Occasionally reach overhead or below.
  • Alternate between sitting, walking, standing, and speaking.
