Equipment Specialist 

Job Summary 

ESAero is seeking an Equipment Specialist to join our Quality Compliance team. In this pivotal role, you will manage the full lifecycle of calibrated equipment from procurement and calibration to repairs, database oversight, and end-of-life retirement. Your expertise will ensure that every project is equipped with reliable, compliant tools essential for delivering products that consistently meet or exceed customer expectations. 

Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for measurement equipment and calibrated tools. 

  • Maintain accurate databases and records for all equipment. 

  • Coordinate routine equipment calibrations with external providers. 

  • Partner with project teams to plan and schedule calibration activities that prevent downtime. 

  • Apply clear, compliant labeling to tools and equipment with all pertinent information. 

  • Perform periodic equipment upkeep, including relabeling, battery replacement, and cleaning in preparation for calibration. 

  • Manage equipment utilization to support both immediate project needs and long‑term planning. 

  • Conduct regular audits of equipment records, reports, and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance. 

  • Investigate equipment nonconformances and support containment, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions. 

  • Recommend and implement preventive measures to reduce recurrence of equipment‑related issues. 

  • Contribute to improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing projects and process optimization efforts that enhance quality and efficiency. 

  • Support the integration of new metrology technologies, automation tools, and fixturing solutions to improve repeatability and throughput. 

  • Ensure adherence to quality systems, customer requirements, and internal standards across all equipment‑related activities. 

Required Qualifications and Skills 

  • High school diploma. 

  • Knowledge of and experience with basic measurement equipment. 

  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills. 

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on compliance and accuracy. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with proven success collaborating across teams. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office applications. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 

Desired Qualifications and Skills 

  • Associates degree in a technical field. 

  • 3+ years of experience in a quality-related role. 

  • Proven experience working with large databases. 

  • Experience inspecting a product or system according to specifications and requirements. 

  • Experience with quality standards such as AS9100 or ISO 9001 and their general practices. 

  • Background in aerospace or a comparable technical industry.
