Job Description

As a Project Estimator at Won-Door Corporation, you’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting commercial projects that range from local school renovations to new high-rise buildings across the country. Based at our Salt Lake City headquarters and working closely with our national sales team, you will play a vital role in supporting and guiding project teams with accurate product configuration and pricing.

Once trained and familiar with Won-Door’s product line and its architectural integration, you will help mitigate potential project issues and influence contractors and architects through detailed take-offs, notes, and coordination with our drafting team. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to grow in the construction estimating field while making a lasting contribution to dynamic projects nationwide.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and organize incoming invitations to bid.
  • Navigate bid documents to determine project scope.
  • Compile and mark up scope of work for clarity and detail.
  • Perform quantity take-offs for door systems and related components.
  • Price and send detailed estimates to regional sales staff.
  • Provide support and guidance to sales and project teams regarding configurations.
  • Coordinate with drafting team for architectural layouts and clarifications.
  • Review scope of work changes and revise pricing accordingly.
  • Maintain organized project files and bid documentation.
  • Ensure estimates are completed on schedule and in compliance with company standards.
  • Communicate effectively with architects, contractors, and internal departments.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of pricing tools and templates.
  • Collaborate on process improvements to enhance estimation efficiency.

Qualifications

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
    • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and bid specifications.
    • Time management and prioritization skills for handling multiple deadlines.
    • Team-oriented mindset with willingness to support cross-functional teams.
    • Basic understanding of construction processes and terminology preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • None required.
  • Certifications in construction estimating, project management, or related areas are a plus.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction or estimating is helpful but not required.

Work Environment

  • Office-based position located at the Salt Lake City headquarters.
  • Collaborative environment with frequent interaction with sales, drafting, and compliance teams.
  • Standard business hours with occasional extended hours during peak bid periods.
  • Exposure to commercial construction plans and industry documents.
