About the Department
The Comptroller General’s Office (CGO) is a constitutional office responsible for the state’s financial operations, including statewide financial reporting, accounting, payroll, and compliance with governmental standards. The CGO plays a critical role in ensuring transparency, accuracy, and accountability in the state’s fiscal management and supporting agencies across South Carolina state government.
The Executive Assistant provides comprehensive, high-level administrative support to the Executive Staff of the CGO. It serves as a key point of contact and operational support role, handling complex scheduling, confidential information, stakeholder interactions, and special projects.
Job Duties:
- You will organize the daily affairs of the Executive Staff including calendar coordination, scheduling appointments, organizing meetings, assembling appropriate files and documents, making travel arrangements, and organizing and maintaining confidential information and office files.
- You will serve as a point of contact for the CGO by directing all incoming calls to appropriate staff, receiving and assisting visitors, reviewing and sorting incoming mail, routing correspondence, and tracking response deadlines.
- You will provide administrative support to the SCEIS Executive Oversight Committee and State Fiscal Accountability Authority, as needed.
- You will support the Executive Staff in organizational strategies and other special projects as assigned.
Position Duties
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of professional experience in an executive assistance or similar administrative role, preferably in a government or public-sector environment.
- Familiarity with the functions and processes of South Carolina state government.
