Job Description

As an Aramid Expander you set up and run the aramid expander to produce blocks that meet customer and company specifications.



 



 



Currently there is an opening for an Expander in our Aramid division on 1st shift (Monday - Friday 6:30AM to 2:30PM.)



 



 



 



 



Aramid Expander: Starting at $20.29 per hour on 1st Shift!



 



 



 



 



 



 



Key Responsibilities: 



 



 



 



 




  • Startup/verify secondary equipment (hot water heater) is operating at set point.

  • Check schedule to determine next order to process.

  • Read work order instructions and process specifications.

  • Transfer unexpanded block with a forklift.

  • Use overhead crane to load/unload blocks and metal frames.

  • Insert metal rods into loops on both ends of block.

  • Expand blocks to proper length, width, and cell size.

  • Measure required dimensions with ruler and tape measure.

  • Frame expanded block and move to oven cart.

  • Push the cart into oven and run oven cure cycle for each block.

  • Remove cart from oven and disassemble frame from block.

  • Inspect blocks for quality issues.

  • Transfer block onto roller cart for next operation.

  • Complete associated paperwork.

  • Enter process and work order information into computer system to maintain accurate records.

  • Monitor equipment and make setup adjustments as necessary.

  • Communicate with management representatives regarding any material or equipment concerns.

  • Record production and scrap information on team board charts.

  • Maintain an inventory of supplies. Notify supervisor when re-order level is reached.

  • Assist in performing quarterly inventory checks.

  • Assist other departments as necessary.

  • Provide the customer with the best value including Cost, Quality, and Delivery by being efficient, productive, and careful.

  • Actively participate in improving our product, processes, equipment and methods.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times including waste/scrap removal and cleanup of equipment.

  • Perform all reasonably related duties as assigned.



 



 



 



Qualifications:



 




  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Mechanically inclined

  • Ability to work overtime.

  • Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
