Job Description

At Franklin Yard, you will provide customized, one-on-one SAT & ACT tutoring to our students.

As an expert SAT and ACT tutor, you will provide tailored SAT or ACT instruction to our college-bound students. You will have the flexibility to choose your hours and number of students you work with, and you will have the guidance of one of our top tutors meeting with you weekly to ensure you always have our full support and attention.


Our specialty is highly-customized individual prep, but our tutors also have a number of opportunities to teach small groups or classes, if they choose.


What we ask in return is for you to be a thoughtful, empathetic tutor - adaptable enough to meet the unique needs of a variety of students, and inspired enough to welcome the challenge of keeping on top of a rapidly-changing test prep landscape.


All candidates must reside in Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Carolina, Kansas, Wyoming, South Dakota, Florida, North Carolina, or Texas.


Responsibilities

  • Create dynamic, engaging lessons for students in virtual one-on-one prep
  • Design and implement lesson plans for varying levels of content knowledge, aptitude, and test prep experience
  • Structure lesson schedules and homework plans in ways that maximize student success
  • Recognize and compensate for different learning styles and needs
  • Establish clear goals and milestones with students, and develop plans to achieve them
  • Document and communicate periodic progress reports
  • Provide constructive and conscientious feedback for students and families


Experience Required

  • Previous experience (2+ years) and success with SAT and ACT tutoring
  • Sufficient knowledge of core content areas and test taking strategies for both SAT and ACT
  • Demonstrated ability to score >95th percentile on current SAT/ACT exams (qualifying test will be administered as part of the interview process)
  • Ability to build rapport with students and parents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be responsive and conscientious in all communication, internal or external
  • A high level of comfort and capability with Zoom platform tools (annotation, screen sharing, etc.)
