Job Summary


Peerless Architectural Windows and Doors, located in Fort Scott, Kansas, is a Mid-western manufacturer of high performance aluminum architectural and commercial windows for new construction, replacement and historical construction. We are currently in search of an experienced .NET developer to create and maintain in-house software as well as migrate legacy systems to the newest technologies. Here is your chance to create innovative software solutions using the latest technology and techniques.


 


This position has the potential as a hybrid position, with time on-site and time working remotely possible. This position is not a fully remote position.


 


Responsibilities



  • Producing clean, efficient code based on specifications

  • Design, test and deploy programs and systems

  • Fixing and improving existing software

  • Maintain and migrate older legacy applications created in VB 6



 


In this role, you should be a team player with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills. If you also have experience in Agile software development and object oriented patterns and practices you will be a stronger candidate. New applications will be a mix of Windows Desktop, Web, and Mobile using various technologies.


 


Required Skills



  • Proven experience as a Software Developer or similar role

  • Experience using Visual Studio

  • Working knowledge of the .NET framework using C# and/or VB.NET

  • Working knowledge of web technologies, such as ASP.NET, HTML, CSS and JavaScript

  • Excellent experience with SQL coding and performance tuning

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively

  • Ability to work well as a member of a team

  • Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies



 


Desired Skills



  • Familiar with Agile Software Development

  • Working knowledge of Web Services such as ASP .NET Web API

  • Working knowledge of Xamarin

  • Experience with Source Control such as Team Services

  • Experience with DevExpress and/or Syncfusion

  • Experience with Prism Library

  • Object Oriented Design Patterns and Best Practices
