Job Description

Purpose / Scope

The Eyelet Tool & Die Maker is responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining tooling and production press equipment. This role works closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and other tool and die makers to ensure high press efficiency, consistent part quality, and safe operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot presses and tooling to maintain and restore production
  • Set up jobs to meet production, quality, and efficiency standards
  • Maintain and update tool books and required process documentation
  • Monitor, maintain, and continuously improve part quality
  • Promote and follow strong safety and housekeeping practices
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and identify equipment issues
  • Communicate tooling concerns to work teams or team leaders as appropriate
  • Maintain tooling and equipment to company standards
  • Assist with new tooling development and prototype builds
  • Actively work to reduce setup times and improve changeovers
  • Contribute as an effective, reliable team member

Required Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Journeyman card as an Eyelet Tool & Die Maker or equivalent hands‑on experience
  • Background in a metal forming or high‑speed production environment
  • Strong blueprint reading skills
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and statistical problem solving
  • Ability to operate crane equipment
  • Ability to understand, speak, and read English fluently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Close‑tolerance grinding experience
  • Working knowledge of GD&T symbols
  • Ability to operate a hi‑lo / forklift
