Job Description:

The Fabricator/Welder is responsible for fabricating, fitting, assembling, and welding metal components and structures according to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. This position requires proficiency in metal fabrication processes, blueprint interpretation, welding techniques, and the safe operation of fabrication equipment. The Fabricator/Welder plays a critical role in producing high-quality products while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, welding symbols, bills of material, and work instructions.
  • Layout, measure, mark, cut, fit, and assemble metal components to required specifications.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum as required.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including band saws, ironworkers, drill presses, grinders, shears, presses, and other metalworking machinery.
  • Fabricate structural frames, assemblies, platforms, brackets, guards, and custom components.
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools including tape measures, squares, calipers, and gauges.
  • Inspect completed assemblies and weldments to ensure compliance with drawings and quality standards.
  • Grind, finish, deburr, and prepare completed products for shipment or secondary operations.
  • Perform rework, repairs, and modifications as necessary.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment when authorized.
  • Maintain welding and fabrication equipment in good working condition.
  • Accurately complete production, quality, and maintenance documentation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and 5S initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

Pre-employment Qualifications: Pass pre-employment drug screen, acceptable background check results including criminal history and driving record, if necessary. 

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred. 2+ years of fabrication and welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication or industrial environment. Proficient in MIG and TIG welding, knowledge of other processes a plus. Experience fabricating from blueprints and engineering drawings. Experience working with structural steel, sheet metal, stainless steel, and aluminum preferred.

Language Skills: Individuals must have good written and oral communication skills.

Mathematical Skills: Individuals must possess basic mathematical skills,

Reasoning Ability: Strong attention to detail is also required and commitment to produce hig-quality work.

Computer Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of ISO standards, quality systems and inspection processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and welding symbols. Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of metal properties.

OT: Overtime may be required based on the needs of the business.


Physical Requirements: 

The Fabricator/welder spends time in manufacturing setting.
