Responsibilities - What you’ll do
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Performs routine storekeeping duties in a warehouse, or storeroom
- Takes physical inventories to determine quantities on hand and/or reconcile records
- Labels and places inventory items in appropriate storage areas; rotates as necessary. Disposes of unused or unneeded inventory as indicated through policy
- Maintains computerized and/or manual records of inventory items received, stored, issued, ordered, returned, disposed, and/or sold
- Receives training to assists Network Infrastructure Technicians with the more manual tasks such as pulling and installing network cable, material handling, etc…
- Receives and unpacks incoming inventory items; inspects for quality and quantity; refers major decisions regarding non-conformance with specifications to a designated supervisor
- Fills requisitions and prepares items to be delivered or shipped
- Delivers and assembles office furniture and cubicles using basic hand tools
- Drives a box truck or other State vehicle to transport equipment and/or supplies
- Uses forklift, pallet jack, and other warehousing equipment
- Helps plan, coordinate, and implement DHEWD facility moves/relocation
- Recommends new or modified storage methods
- Able to use good judgement and able to build/maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers
- Retrieve works tickets from the DHEWD work ticket system and fulfill tasks in a timely fashion
- Assess worksites prior to completing major work orders to effectively plan and organize prior to implementation
- Maintains clean and orderly storage/stores areas(s)
- Exercises independence in the performance of duties under general supervision
- Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance
- Perform other related work as assigned
Qualifications - All you need for success
- Beneficial education and/or work-related experience includes technical or professional education and/or experience in related area
- Ability to routinely maneuver and/or lift furniture components, supplies and equipment with or without assistance as well as work on ladders, above ceiling grids and floor ducts. Ability to maintain valid MO Drivers’ License. Ability to work in an open warehouse that is not climate controlled. Subject to heat and/or cold, dusty conditions. Considerable amount of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc.
