ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform routine center cleaning and debris pickup of the grounds.
- Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture.
- Clean, and disinfect tables and bathroom fixtures along with appliances. Restock restrooms with paper supplies.
- Pick up debris and empty trash containers daily.
- Dust and polish furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Set up/break down chairs and tables for meetings.
- Sweep walkways, mow lawn, and shovel snow as necessary. Maintain grounds in clean and neat condition.
- Sweep, mop, wash, wax, steam clean chairs, shampoo carpets, and polish floors.
- Contribute to team effort by performing other related duties as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum requirements for this position are:

- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Two years of janitorial experience is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Must maintain current Delaware Defensive Driving Certification.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Must possess both oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations to clients and other Agency employees.
REPORTING: This position reports to the Facilities Manager/ Facilities/ Trans. Director.
PRIMARY WORK LOCATION: Duties and functions will be performed at the Ocean View Senior Activity Center, requiring local driving within the designated CHEER service areas.
WORK HOURS: 4:30 AM – 8:00 AM Monday through Friday. Extended work hours are periodically required to support programs and activities
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-Time (20 hours per week) Non-Exempt
