FACILITIES TEAM
OVERVIEW
The Facilities Team Member (Cleaning) is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within the facility. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and supporting overall facility operations.
Qualifications & Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is a plus
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Physical ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform repetitive tasks
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and cleaning product usage
Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all facility areas, including restrooms, offices, common spaces, and work areas
- Follow established cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure consistent maintenance
- Handle and properly dispose of waste and recyclables
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in restrooms and common areas
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, floor buffers, and pressure washers
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals
- Identify and report maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to management
- Assist with event setup and breakdown, including cleaning before and after events
Tasks
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, counters, and furniture
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and mirrors
- Empty trash and recycling bins, replacing liners as needed
- Wash windows, doors, and glass surfaces
- Clean and sanitize kitchen or breakroom areas
- Spot-clean walls, doors, and high-touch surfaces to prevent buildup
- Restock janitorial supplies and request additional inventory as needed
- Perform deep cleaning tasks as scheduled or assigned
