FACILITIES TEAM

OVERVIEW

The Facilities Team Member (Cleaning) is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within the facility. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and supporting overall facility operations.

Qualifications & Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is a plus
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and cleaning product usage

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all facility areas, including restrooms, offices, common spaces, and work areas
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure consistent maintenance
  • Handle and properly dispose of waste and recyclables
  • Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in restrooms and common areas
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, floor buffers, and pressure washers
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals
  • Identify and report maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to management
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including cleaning before and after events

Tasks

  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, counters, and furniture
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and mirrors
  • Empty trash and recycling bins, replacing liners as needed
  • Wash windows, doors, and glass surfaces
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen or breakroom areas
  • Spot-clean walls, doors, and high-touch surfaces to prevent buildup
  • Restock janitorial supplies and request additional inventory as needed
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks as scheduled or assigned
