Job description

This role involves between 150 & 200 days in the field in remote locations for Mineral Exploration projects. Additional field rates and time in lieu is provided, you can be based in Perth or surrounding areas (within a 3 hour drive to Perth). Projects are mostly in Australia but there are opportunities for international travel if able and wanting.

The Field Operations Supervisor is a primarily field-based role, working across a wide range of active seismic and multiphysics projects throughout Australia and internationally for Mineral Exploration. You will provide frontline leadership to field crews and ensures the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of surveys from mobilisation through to demobilisation.

Role Responsibilities

Field Leadership & Daily Operations
  • Supervise and support field crews during active seismic and multiphysics deployments.
  • Coordinate daily schedules, production targets, and field execution plans.
  • Maintain strong safety leadership, including toolbox meetings, JHAs, and field risk assessments.
  • Provide hands-on support across shooting crews, line crews, node teams, and survey execution.
Multiphysics Support (ANT, MT, HVSR, Gravity)
  • Assist with deployment, retrieval, troubleshooting, and basic QC across all multiphysics methods.
  • Ensure field logs, metadata, and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Support GSS and Project Managers with survey requirements and daily adjustments.
Equipment & Logistics
  • Support equipment readiness, maintenance coordination, and field troubleshooting (nodes, weight drop, Vibes, Geodes).
  • Assist with packing lists, freight preparation, mobilisation logistics, and remote field setup.
  • Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently in compliance with project and client requirements.
HSE & Compliance
  • Ensure all operations meet Fleet’s HSE standards and client expectations.
  • Identify hazards, implement controls, and support incident reporting and corrective actions.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and mentor junior crew members on safe field practice.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Produce accurate daily activity reports, production summaries, and crew updates.
  • Support onboarding, travel coordination, inductions, and mobilisation paperwork.
  • Assist with vendor coordination and basic project administration tasks.
Client & Stakeholder Interaction
  • Represent Fleet professionally on site with clients, contractors, landholders, Axiom, and JV partners.
  • Provide clear operational updates and escalate issues early when required.

What we are looking for

Essential
  • 3+ years of field experience in land seismic or related geophysical / mining operations.
  • Previous experience or can demonstrate a strong ability & willingness to learn how to supervise crews in remote environments across Australia.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally for deployments when required.
  • Strong understanding of HSE processes and field safety leadership.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with a proactive nature & eagerness to learn
  • Valid driver’s licence and confident 4WD capability.
Bonus if you also have
  • Experience with Geophysical Surveys such as Active Seismic 
  • Experience working under mining safety frameworks 
  • Mechanical, electrical, or IT troubleshooting skills.
  • First Aid or remote safety training.
