ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a newly created role to support our growing Accounts & Finance team.
The Finance Manager will be based in Mumbai, reporting to the Director – Finance.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting and Reporting
- Manage the NPD India accounting team of approx. 3-5 people, as well as mentoring the team and identifying training opportunities
- Build out, scale, and oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions; supervise company finance staff, AR, AP, Intercompany, Payroll etc
- Manage the month-end closing process, paying particular attention to ensure all month-end closing activities are completed quickly and accurately
- Ensure adherence to the month end close timeline and checklist
- Manage the accounting team ensuring that they are meeting cut-off deadlines for AR and AP to ensure that close deadlines are met
- Prepare and approve journal entries and accounts payable, on an as needed basis
- Review and analyze deferred revenue and revenue recognition schedules
- Review balance sheet reconciliations, on a monthly basis, including intercompany reconciliations
Accounting and Compliance
- Ensure compliance and other financial regulations
- Oversee external financial reporting, audits, and tax filings
- Implement strong internal controls and risk management frameworks
- Maintain internal controls relative to financial operations to ensure overall compliance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures
- Remain up to date on accounting best practices as well as local and federal laws regarding accounting operations
Financial Strategy and Planning
- Prepare annual budgets, ongoing forecasts as well as long-term financial planning
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, required
- 3-5 years or more of related experience, required, preferably within an agency environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Prior experience with NetSuite is preferable or experience in using a large ERP system
- High level of accuracy and efficiency while managing multiple priorities
- Proficient in the MS Office Suite, including high proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups and various commonly used formulae in the accounting industry)
