  • Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Competitive Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 DOE

Alter Behavioral Health is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This role plays a critical part in supporting financial performance, operational decision-making, and organizational growth through meaningful analysis and reporting.



The ideal candidate is highly analytical, collaborative, and capable of transforming complex financial data into actionable business insights. This position works closely with Admissions, Business Development, Revenue Cycle Management, and executive leadership to support revenue optimization, forecasting, and strategic planning.



What You’ll Do



Financial Analysis & Reporting




  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and performance drivers.

  • Prepare, review, and distribute financial reports and key performance metrics.

  • Conduct variance analyses and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.

  • Develop dashboards and visual reporting tools using Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms.

  • Present findings and recommendations to management in a clear and actionable manner.



Revenue & Operational Support




  • Partner with Admissions, Business Development, and Revenue Cycle Management teams to evaluate revenue streams and identify opportunities for optimization.

  • Monitor revenue trends, payer performance, and operational metrics.

  • Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling and data-driven recommendations.

  • Assist with special projects related to growth, operational efficiency, and profitability.



Budgeting & Forecasting




  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Analyze actual results against budgets and forecasts.

  • Assist department leaders with financial planning and performance monitoring.



Accounting & Month-End Close




  • Support the month-end close process through reconciliations and financial analysis.

  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls.



Process Improvement




  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting efficiency.

  • Support implementation of best practices across finance and operational departments.

  • Promote data integrity and accuracy across financial systems and reporting platforms.



What We’re Looking For




  • Highly analytical, meticulous, and detail-oriented.

  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis (e.g., advanced Excel skills).

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex financial concepts to non-finance personnel.

  • Proactive problem-solver with a strategic perspective on business operations.
