Job Description

Established in 2007, Post Real Estate Group (“PREG”) is a vertically integrated real estate investment firm focused predominantly on the acquisition and ownership of apartment communities throughout the country. Headquartered in Beverly Hills, CA, PREG also maintains operations in Dallas, TX.

Vertical operations include property management, construction services as well as ancillary business services divisions. PREG’s specialty is in the creation and execution of complex affordable housing transactions in partnership with governmental agencies and non-profit organizations.

In addition to multifamily, the company also owns a small portfolio of industrial buildings and mobile home parks.

This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented, analytical professional to join a rapidly growing real estate investment company with extensive operations in multifamily housing, affordable housing, and construction management across the United States.

The Financial Analyst, CapEx will serve as a financial partner to the Construction team, supporting budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and financial reporting for capital improvement projects across the portfolio. This role combines financial analysis with project cost management to help ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets and financial objectives.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, organized, and comfortable working with large datasets and project financial information in a fast-paced environment.

This position will be based in Beverly Hills, CA and will offer the qualified candidate competitive base pay along with performance bonus and benefits.


Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Cost Controls

  • Monitor CapEx expenditures, reconcile project budgets, and ensure compliance with established financial controls and approval processes.

  • Develop and maintain project-level and portfolio-level CapEx forecasts.

  • Analyze budget-to-actual performance and identify key drivers of project cost variances.

  • Support annual capital budgeting and long range capital planning initiatives.

  • Monitor committed costs, purchase orders, contracts, and actual expenditures throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Assist in forecasting project cost-to-complete estimates and anticipated budget impacts.

  • Evaluate the financial impact of change orders and scope modifications.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly CapEx reporting packages for leadership and stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and data visualizations used to monitor project and portfolio performance.

  • Track project financial performance metrics including budget utilization, forecast accuracy, cost variances, and capital deployment trends.

  • Analyze historical spending trends and provide recommendations to improve forecasting accuracy and capital allocation decisions.

  • Support preparation of executive presentations, capital requests, and project funding analyses.

Project Support & Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Construction, Asset Management, Development, and Accounting teams to ensure accurate project financial reporting and cost tracking.

  • Review and track purchase orders, change orders, pay applications, and project financial documentation.

  • Support monthly and quarterly close processes related to capital expenditures.

  • Assist with project closeout activities, including final budget reconciliation and financial reporting.

  • Maintain project financial data and reporting systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Construction Management, Real Estate, or a related field preferred.

  • 2–5 years of experience in construction finance, project controls, capital projects, real estate development, financial analysis, or related fields preferred.

  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and financial reporting.

  • Experience reviewing project budgets, change orders, pay applications, and construction cost reports preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling, and data analysis.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working with large datasets and reporting tools.

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms preferred.

  • Experience with Yardi, Entrata, Banner, Procore, or similar construction and real estate systems preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Compensation + Benefits

  • Salary: $105,000 – $115,000 base salary with the opportunity for performance-based bonuses.

  • Benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, Life/AD&D, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and holidays
